Dr. Josh Herron is the Dean of Online and Continuous Learning in the Center for Innovation and Digital Learning at Anderson University (SC). Before his current role, he was Director of Online Programs at a liberal arts college. He began his academic career as a faculty member in the NC Community College System.
He has taught communication and learning experience design courses in a variety of modalities. He currently directs and teaches in the fully online M.S. in Instructional Design and Learning Technology program at Anderson University (SC). His research interests include new media, learning design, and educational innovation. He has over 30 related publications and presentations in a variety of outlets.
His professional service has included board officer for the SC Association of Continuing Higher Education (SCACHE) along with committee roles for national organizations such as the University Professional Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) and the Online Learning Consortium (OLC). He also earned presentation and leadership awards from UPCEA and OLC.
He holds a PhD in Communication and Information Design from Clemson University and the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. He also completed Penn State University and the Online Learning Consortium’s Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning.
